Please Note

June 4:Around late morning, we’ll meet at the airport for our flight to Portland, Oregon, arriving in the early afternoon.  Upon arrival, our comfortable motor coach will be waiting.  Our bus is new, air-conditioned, restroom and DVD equipped with a great sound system. Before going to the hotel, we’ll go into Washington Park and visit the International Test Gardens overlooking the city.  There are over 10,000 roses with over 650 varieties on display. We’ll then go to our hotel and check in and change. We’ll enjoy a session in the Portland Temple tonight which is, without question, one of the most beautiful in the world – both the edifice and its setting. It is magnificent! D

June 5:  Today is Sunday. We’ll have a chance to attend Sacrament Meeting this morning. After changing clothes at the hotel, we’ll spend the rest of the day in the scenic Columbia River Gorge on the old Highway 30 which begins in nearby Troutdale. We’ll stop at Vista Point and take in the sweeping views of the Columbia River. We continue the scenic drive that showcases waterfalls and dense forests. Those who are interested can take the 20 minute walk to Bridal Veil Falls. By late afternoon, we will send time at the jewel of the gorge: Multnomah Falls which is stunning whether you are seeing it for the first of fifth time. Spring runoff makes this a PERFECT time to enjoy the gorge. We then make a brief stop at the Bonneville Dam and watch the salmon swimming through the ladders as they make their way from the ocean. We return to our hotel in Portland. B

June 6: Today we head for the coast. We’ll make a 30 minute stop in charming Depoe Bay, claiming the “smallest natural bay”. It’s a lovely ocean front town. We continue 30 minutes into Newport where you can enjoy a fish and chips lunch (or other 0ptions) on the waterfront. 5 minutes away of the unique Yaquina Head Lighthouse perched majestically on on outcropping into the ocean. If we are there at low tide, you can also enjoy a look into the tide pools that are teeming with all kinds of marine life. We then continue to the most dramatic part of the coast with a stop overlooking Cape Perpetua – perhaps the most beautiful views along the entire Oregon coast (as you’ll see). 30 minutes to the south is the scenic Haceta Head Lighthouse where we’ll make a photo stop (a walk up the hill is required to see this one). Our hotel is down the road in Coos Bay. Dinner is included tonight. B, D

June 7: This morning we pass through Gold Beach and Brookings (where we make a rest stop) as we exit Oregon into Northern California. By lunchtime, we’ll be on the Newton B. Drury scenic highway into the Redwoods. We’ll have a picnic lunch in the national park and give you time for a couple of short strolls among these towering trees that are up to 700 years old! Just 90 minutes to the is the famous Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt State Park which showcases a 20 mile drive through the heart of the forest. We’ll take a short stroll in Founder’s Grove and make a brief stop at the visitors center. Our hotel is 30 minutes to the south in Garberville where you’ll have time for dinner on your own in the town. B

June 8: Today we travel through the manicured vineyards of the Napa Valley as we make our way south on Highway 101. We’ll make a rest stop in the valley before continuing south. After lunch in Vacaville, we’ll arrive into the Sacramento area.  We’ll go out to the western suburb of Rancho Cordova where we check into our hotel. We’ll enjoy dinner together followed by evening session at the Sacramento Temple which again, enjoys a prominent hilltop location in a large park-like setting. B, D

June 9: This morning, we’ll go downtown and make an interesting picture stop at the State Capitol which sits on a grand avenue lined with stately palms and is worth a look. There are some other interesting things to see as well. We’ll then make our way into the Bay Area, arriving in time for a fun lunch on your own in the bayside town of Sauselito. Before going into the city, we’ll make a stop at Bonita Park with its stunning overlook of the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco Bay. Our hotel is in the San Francisco area. We will enjoy an evening session tonight in the Oakland temple which has been recently rededicated after a long closure. B.

June 10:  Today we’ll be joined by our friend, Virginia who will show us around San Francisco. You’ve likely been here before, but there is much to show you that you probably haven’t seen – and with a local expert who can share interesting details. Virginia is also an expert on the Latter Day Saint experiences in San Francisco which she’ll also share. This afternoon you will have some free time at Fisherman’s Wharf followed by an included dinner at Swiss Louie’s on Pier 39 which is always a treat.  B, D

June 11:  This morning’s drive takes us over to Fresno where we’ll arrive in time for lunch. There’s an interesting place in Fresno called the underground gardens. In the early 1900s, Sicilian immigrant, citrus grower and visionary Baldassare Forestiere began turning what was useless farmland into a vast network of rooms, tunnels and courtyards as an underground escape from the Central Valley summer heat. Using only shovels, picks and other hand tools, Baldassare excavated for forty years, going as deep as 25 feet underground and spanning over 10 acres. He grew fruit trees and grapevines underground – many of which are still thriving today! It is a fascinating place to see. We’ll visit this afternoon. After a rest and time for dinner, we’ll attend an evening session at the Fresno Temple.  B

June 12:  Our drive this morning takes us back toward the coast to the town of San Simeon. This is where William Randolph Hearst built his famous castle, high in the hills overlooking the Pacific. It is one of the grandest mansions ever built and definitely worth a visit. We have a reserved guided tour. We then continue down the coast to the charming Danish town of Solvang where we’ll have a delicious included Smorgasbog at the well know local restaurant: Bit ‘o Denmark. It is delicious. We stay in Solvang tonight at the Royal Copenhagen.  B, D

June 13: This morning you’ll have a couple of hours on your own to explore the town. Our hotel is within walking distance of everything. At 11:00, we’ll depart and continue on to Santa Barbara where we’ll have lunch and a look around. During your lunch break, be sure to walk by the old Superior Courthouse. May not sound interesting, but the Spanish architecture is definitely worth a look. We’ll also make a stop for a stroll along one of Santa Barbara’s beautiful beaches. We then continue in to Los Angeles county where we will make a picture stop at the Los Angeles Temple/Visitors Center. It’s Monday today, so no session here. We continue on to the Newport Beach area where we stay tonight. B

June 14:  This morning we attend a session in the Newport Beach Temple set against the green hills. We’ll then go to nearby Balboa Island (a favorite for John Wayne whose statue is there) for lunch and browsing. We continue on to San Diego tonight checking into our hotel in La Jolla. Dinner is included in Old Town tonight followed by a session in the San Diego Temple – again, one of the most beautiful in the world. If time permits, you’ll have time to see the Mormon Battalion Visitors Center before dinner.  B, D

June 15: Today we point our coach toward home. We have a late morning temple sessions in the beautiful Redlands Temple. We then continue into Las Vegas where we stay tonight at the Springhill Marriott (non gaming hotel). A farewell dinner is included tonight.  B, D

June 16:  Today we make our way home. Lunch is in Cedar City followed by our last session which is at the new Cedar City Temple. It’s a temple close to home, but many haven’t had the chance to visit yet so it’s a perfect place to end our trip. We then continue on to Salt Lake arriving around 6:00 in the evening.

Registration Information:

To make a reservation, simply fill out the attached reservation form and send it to us with a deposit of $300 per person.  When we receive your deposit, we will mail you a receipt confirming that you are registered for the tour.  A letter with instructions, hotel itinerary flight information (if applicable) and luggage tags will be sent roughly 60 days prior to departure at which time the balance will be due.  You do not need to pay the balance until after you receive that packet.  We require final payments in the form of a check.  If that is not possible, arrangements can be made to use a credit card.  Webb Tours accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. A 2% fee applies to final payments made by credit card.

Cancellation Penalties

We understand that you may need to cancel your trip for whatever reason.  If it is 60 days or more before departure, all money will be refunded.  If airline tickets are purchased prior to that time (with your permission), they become the property of the traveler and are not refundable.  All other funds will be returned if cancellation occurs outside of 60 days.  If it is within 60 days, we will charge you only what Webb Tours cannot recover.  In some cases, we can recover all of it.  In others, we cannot.  Cruise lines, airlines, hotels and other service providers require funds in advance and have their own rules about what will be refunded once paid.  We must follow their guidelines.  For airlines, specifically, tickets are generally non refundable when purchased.  However, most airlines will allow the value of the canceled tickets to be reused for future travel, though a penalty may be assessed to reuse the tickets.  If you have to cancel, Webb Tours will work with other providers to obtain as much refund as possible for our travelers.  Our travelers know us to be very fair in this regard.

Cancellation Insurance:

Cancellation insurance is also available should you be interested.  The insurance provider that we us is Travelex Insurance.  You can learn about them at www.travelexinsurance.com.  With this insurance, most of your money will be returned to you in case you have to cancel for covered reasons (illness or death of an immediate family member) at the last minute.  The price for the insurance varies based on the price of the trip and the age of the participant (at the time the insurance is purchased).

If you are interested in the insurance, you can purchase it through Webb Tours at any time. The insurance goes into effect once purchased.  If you have any pre-existing conditions, it is best to purchase the insurance within 14 days of making your initial deposit as that will cover an illness that may result from a pre-existing condition. If you don’t have pre-existing conditions, you can purchase the insurance any time between now and the time you make your final payment.  Insurance cannot be purchased after your final payment is made.  Webb Tours is not the insurer and acts as agent for Travelex.  To activate your insurance, we need your premium and your birth date.  Insurance also includes the following items:
