Book of Mormon lectures provided along the way. Directed by David Webb (LDS content). Reserve early. Space is limited to 28 participants

To register for the tour, call us at 801-278-3101 or 800-658-8519… OR register online.
February 16: Salt Lake to Belize City. Today we will fly via Texas or Atlanta to Belize City arriving in the late afternoon. Belize is on central time, so no jet lag for this trip! Our coach will be waiting and we’ll transfer 60 minutes north to the town of Orange Walk where we’ll stay at Lamanai Landings on the New River Lagoon. We have a welcome dinner and rest this evening. Tour pays for dinner.
February 17: Lamanai. Our lovely hotel overlooks the New River Lagoon. You can sit on your private balcony or at breakfast and watch the variety of birds that come and go. After breakfast, there will be an optional lecture about “The Book of Mormon in Mesoamerica” which will provide important context for the rest of the tour. We then board our motorboats that will take us on an exhilarating 40 ride on this snaking, jungle river. We’ll then arrive in a man made lagoon on which the Mayas built an impressive city over 2,000 years ago. It’s called Lamanai and it’s locked deep in the jungle. Amidst the howler monkeys and towering trees, this breathtaking site is a place you’ll long remember. Upon arrival, we’ll have a homemade Belizian barbecue lunch followed by a guided tour of the site. We will then return via our jet boat to our hotel where you’ll have some free time this evening. Those interested can go with us into Orange Walk and enjoy dinner at Maracas on the New River. Tour to pay for breakfast, boat rides, admission and lunch today.
February 18: Today we go into town and attend Sacrament Meeting (in Orange Walk). After changing and checking out, we drive a short distance to a smaller Mayan site known as Altun Ha. We’ll spend an hour here as there are some interesting things to see. The largest and most valuable jade head in all of the Mayan world was discovered here. We then visit the Belize Zoo to see the fascinating animals native to Belize where we’ll also have lunch. In the afternoon, we drive to the west side of the country (about 2 hours) to the town of St. Ignacio where we stay in a resort hotel overlooking the beautiful, lush valley for three nights. Tour to pay for breakfast, dinner and admissions today.
February 19: Tikal. Today is perhaps the highlight of the week. Just across the border in Guatemala (just over an 90 minutes away), is the most impressive of ALL the Central American sites: TIKAL. It is in a league of its own and one that should be on every bucket list. Supporting over 2 million people at its height, this Mayan city locked in the Peten Jungle is magnificent. It is made up of multiple temples piercing the jungle canopy, interesting writings they left behind, and a high quantity of well preserved buildings in thus unique setting. A local guide will show us around – and we’ll discover what may be some interesting Book of Mormon connections. It will be a day to remember. Lunch is included after departing the ruins. We return to our hotel in St. Ignacio, Belize. A departure tax must be paid, in person, as we leave Guatemala returning to Belize. Tour to pay for breakfast, Tikal and lunch today.
February 20: Yesterday was a big day in Tikal. Today we’ll sleep in and have a relaxing breakfast. Then we’ll enjoy some wonderful activities around this beautiful part of Belize. We will be to drive to nearby Mountain Pine Ridge and make a visit to the Green Hills Butterfly Farm where we’ll spend an hour (fabulous butterflies and hummingbirds in a beautiful jungle setting). A few minutes away is an interesting cave with a river system. After lunch in a lovely outdoor setting, we’ll enjoy a safe, relaxing canoe ride through the interior of the cave. You can row your own or a guide will row for you. It’s perfectly calm, and very beautiful. At 3:00, we’ll enjoy a very educational (and tasty) hour at the Chocolate Company. The Mayans are the ones that discovered chocolate from the Cacao Bean and to see the process from start to finish is very interesting. We then return to the hotel where you’ll have free time this evening. (Note: If anyone wants to visit the ruins of Caracol today instead of these described activities, it can be arranged). Tour to pay for breakfast and lunch and activities.
February 21: This morning we’ll visit the exceptional, small Mayan site called Xunantunich, just minutes from our hotel. A short ferry ride takes us across the river and then we spend two hours at this small but important site. This is the second highest temple in Belize and the Mayan hieroglyphs are prominently displayed on the temple walls. It is very different than the other sites we have visited. Lunch is included in San Ignacio before we then travel 2 hours back to Belize City to catch our boat for a 45 minute ride to beautiful Caye Caulker, an island along the barrier reef of Belize. We will arrive around 4:00. We’ll relax this evening in our ocean front resort called Island Magic. Tour to pay for breakfast, tours, lunch and boat ride.
February 22: Caye Caulker. This is a day to explore and enjoy as you wish. Stretching over 160 miles off the coast is the UNESCO protected Belize Barrier Reef, second only to the one in Australia. Our island, is just one mile from the reef. You’ll have some free time today. Take a ferry to neighboring San Pedro, enjoy some shopping on the island, or sign up for a very reasonably priced 1/2 day snorkeling activity. There are no motor vehicles on the island. For a small fee, you can rent a golf cart and explore the island on your own. In the evening, we’ll board our private boat for an hour long sunset cruise on western side of our beautiful island. We will have a farewell buffet dinner with our group tonight at the Barefoot Caribe. Tour to pay for dinner today.
February 23: After a relaxing morning and breakfast, we’ll return via ferry to Belize City, and on to the airport for flights home. Join us and you’ll see why they all say that it really is UNBELIZABLE!
Registration Information:
To make a reservation, simply fill out the attached reservation form and send it to us with a deposit of $300 per person. When we receive your deposit, we will mail you a receipt confirming that you are registered for the tour. A letter with instructions, hotel itinerary flight information (if applicable) and luggage tags will be sent roughly 60 days prior to departure at which time the balance will be due. You do not need to pay the balance until after you receive that packet. We require final payments in the form of a check. If that is not possible, arrangements can be made to use a credit card. Webb Tours accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. A 2% fee applies to final payments made by credit card.
Cancellation Penalties
We understand that you may need to cancel your trip for whatever reason. If it is 120 days or more before departure, all money will be refunded. If airline tickets are purchased prior to that time (with your permission), they become the property of the traveler and are not refundable. All other funds will be returned if cancellation occurs outside of 120 days. If it is within 120 days, we will charge you only what Webb Tours cannot recover. In some cases, we can recover all of it. In others, we cannot. Cruise lines, airlines, hotels and other service providers require funds in advance and have their own rules about what will be refunded once paid. We must follow their guidelines. For airlines, specifically, tickets are generally non refundable when purchased. However, most airlines will allow the value of the canceled tickets to be reused for future travel, though a penalty may be assessed to reuse the tickets. If you have to cancel, Webb Tours will work with other providers to obtain as much refund as possible for our travelers. Our travelers know us to be very fair in this regard.
Cancellation Insurance:
Cancellation insurance is also available should you be interested. The insurance provider that we us is Travelex Insurance. You can learn about them at www.travelexinsurance.com. With this insurance, most of your money will be returned to you in case you have to cancel for covered reasons (illness or death of an immediate family member) at the last minute. The price for the insurance varies based on the price of the trip and the age of the participant (at the time the insurance is purchased).
If you are interested in the insurance, you can purchase it through Webb Tours at any time. The insurance goes into effect once purchased. If you have any pre-existing conditions, it is best to purchase the insurance within 14 days of making your initial deposit as that will cover an illness that may result from a pre-existing condition. If you don’t have pre-existing conditions, you can purchase the insurance any time between now and the time you make your final payment. Insurance cannot be purchased after your final payment is made. Webb Tours is not the insurer and acts as agent for Travelex. To activate your insurance, we need your premium and your birth date.
